Reisho

It was an official style in the Han dynasty(the Yayoi Period in Japan). Tensho was practically simplified and arranged. Reisho is used today in the letters of「日本銀行券」 on bank notes and the title letters in「読売新聞」 on a newspaper, to name but a few.

The way of writing

The structure and the way of writing come from the fact that Reisho were bore on pieces of bamboos and woods. The character shapes are supposed to be flat, and vertical strokes and horizontal strokes ought to be accurately vertical and horizontal. Wave-like Migi-harai known as Hataku are often used, and they can be written by sweeping into the upper right direction with keeping the strength of your brushstroke.
